Wings of Hope Volunteer Inc. is a U.S. registered 501(c) (3) non-profit relief flight organization, founded and operated by a group of South Florida airline pilots and aviation professionals. EIN 86-3629027.
Our mission is to provide immediate response and volunteer relief flights to disaster stricken areas in the Caribbean and U.S. southern regions.
September 2019, Hurricane Dorian, the most powerful hurricane to strike the Bahamas in recorded history, made landfall in the Abaco Island of The Bahamas, destroying the Abacos and Grand Bahamas.
Before the major Bahamian airports were opened, coordinating with Dr. Wayne Diamond; Marrio Bailey, a UPS Airline pilot, volunteered with his family and friends to fly his small airplane on his days off to deliver much needed supplies to the Bahamians; many of whom had lost everything. In the following months, fellow pilots and their families volunteered to join the effort.
In 2021, as yet another hurricane season approached, coupled with the the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti, the Bailey family coordinated with fellow aviation professionals and business leaders to establish Wings of Hope Volunteer Inc.
